Nah, don't worry, actually most SMG issues are cheap to fix. Its just that BMW is too lazy/incompetent to diagnose it properly. So they often just end up replacing it completely.

If you somehow happen to end up in Bavaria you can drop by and i will get you your error codes read
As select says hopefully nothing, busted spring tends to throw up cog light, but they can be hit and miss for a while when changing gear if spring breaks, until it throws a real wobbler
But not a big issue for anybody to do themselves now, always worth bearing in mind before blowing tons of cash on other repairs to smg system
