Now in theory, its pretty straight forward cos ive done a googly search and found out that they upgrade the bt master socket and connect up your router. Your router has to be connected to the master socket (not any other extension socket) or via data cable extension.

Now upon reading the google search results i realised that the friggin master socket (from which i have about 8 extension sockets around the house ) is located in the utility room just above the skirting board behind a kitchen unit (recently fitted by my klutz of a carpenter, who also covered the hot and cold valves of the washing machine!! ) so basically inaccessible.

My question is to all you clever clogs out there, can you convert an extension socket so thats it becomes a master socket.
If they can't get at the master socket, I think you're stuffed, they'll have to fit a new one somewhere and route the external phone wiring to it.
