Fibre should be a separate feed into your Household as in a Fibre cable is run from the nearest junction to your house (Fibre is normally run along the street / Pavement from the local exchange with spread junctions units). Thus they should run the cable to a House junction box which they will install and from that they will run a 2nd fibre cable to where ever you want.
Example
I have Virgin Fibre Broadband in which I have a small Box on the side of the house that supply's 2 cables one for the Cable TV and one for my Router which I asked them to run the cabling to the back of the house.

Yes, he's referring to Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC), which is DSL over copper from the street cab. to the premises.
