You are correct, i did not read correctly.

Yes CSL had ported/polished inlet side to match the better designed inlet valves. Exhaust side is as far as i am concered the same as normal m3.

I am very jealous of your project and i have much respect for you rebuilding the engine

To be honest i am not very surprised that it spun a bearing shell. They should be replaced every 60k miles, if its been driven like its meant to be, in my opinion.
