IRL - I had an Evo VIII FQ-340 with a "few" mods, running 380bhp/380ftlbs so was in the same boat as you really. Am a bit more cautious in this weather than I was in the Evo. You'll get the feel of it soon enough
Mines a SG '53' CSL by the way. It had PS2s all round when I bought her, so when the rears needed changing I went straight for those, didn't really think. But I might try Cups for the summer (plus a trackday or 2 + a few ring trips).
