Yes, BMW very grown-up about mods for these cars. I think they understand that what is done is an improvement / to help enjoy the car rather than to save a few pence. And... you will bring it back...

CTEK or NOCO. Latter is the newer challenger brand (US design verses Sweden who are Ctek but both made in China). NOCO has benefit of also doing AGM+, 24V Lithium Ion and a 15AMP quick 'jump' start...

I forgot to add, and if I got this wrong do correct, but wasn't it also the CSL that BMW 'forgot' they had made when it came E92 ring timings... to the point it was removed in a BMW heritage line-up....

I would never trust this car till it had been properly stripped down...
