Mine has a bubble that has formed from the top down, about 20mm. I guess I know what the cause is, but how do I prevent the potential interior damage if it leaks?

I had exactly the same problem with mine, inc the revving.

Turned out to be a wheel speed sensor.

Make sure it is a genuine BMW part not a pattern part.
