New clutch???

If my clutch has started slipping very slightly, not alway, on the upshift, how long has it got left, and also how much is it to do a clutch.

It has only done 20k miles and is under BMW warranty but apparantely the clutch is not covered.

Any help appreciated

It won't be the clutch late wear, just SMG issue so it will be covered assuming BMW warranty.

You need a better dealer.

I dont think vie herd if a worn clutch under 80k miles so I will be the SMG calibration and covered

just a quick follow up but after an independant dealer said i needed a new clutch it has just come out of BMW with the issue fixed.

Apparantely it was a software issue with the SMG box. It had calibrated itself into race mode or something :-/.

If i hadnt gone for the second opinion i would have ended up forking out for a new clutch!!!

Also, i cannot beleive a software issue is not covered by the BMW warranty.

Anyway, Shimmy, cheers for your advice

I think it's a sign of BmW tightening their belts a little !:bigcry:
