Auto tilt of mirror when in reverse?

Tried a search on the forum but didn't find any info.

Can I get the mirror to tilt down when I put the car in reverse? It's not doing it now.

dont think it was an option on the csl Magnust, only on the stock m3.

Must be a tight switch if you need 2 hands to shift it:hahaha:

We had a normal M3 in today, reversing out of the space it drops down, :banghead::banghead:why the fook do I want to look at the floor whilst reversing. I know it pulls back up when you select the other mirror, but still it annoys the shit out of me. The mercs are the same.

Am I the only one who thinks its a shit feature???, maybe good for people who cant drive?

It has two modes - the default mode where it just drops right down to look at the floor which is NFU whatsoever. There's a separate car memory setting that has to be programmed by the dealer (or other laptop interface), which then allows the dipping mirror position to be manually selected. And that is very useful.

And as you say, it's all moot here as the CSL doesn't have the seat/mirror memory module.

One of my previous motors used to do this, but then wouldn't return to the original position properly :banghead::moan:

you can stop this happening on your std m3 (not sure cause not tried it on csl) depending on which mirror is selected with the adjustment switch.

think if you move the switch to the left to select passenger mirror for adjustment it doesn't move down when you select reverse. was the case on my e46 m3's

Yep, that's true. Although the mirrors had a life of their own anyway. Sometimes when I switched the ignition off, they'd do a little dance for a few seconds, and again settle back to a different position

Not really ever thought "God, I wish my CSL had those constantly moving mirrors"
