OBD key (or some other OBDII bluetooth adapter // there are many options in ebay) will do the same thing when combined with a new smartphone.

I have a scangauge in my non csl car, they are very useful,as it just reads all the info your engine ecu can see - invaluable in a badly equipped ford:hahaha:

packaging wise its a bit tacky, and nowadays you can get some handy toys for your phone as alex says...

Not quite, it just reads a very small subset of information as defined by the OBDII standard :D

I had one in a previous non CSL car also .

Was good for resetting fault codes and keeping an eye on intake temps.
