Settle an Argument please...

Ok, things are not happy in the household and loud voices are being used. Please see pics.

Argument settled in-house :)

ETA. we have worked out that a shopping trolley would not be high enough to do that damage. It has gone through to the plastic so must have been a hard whack.... Would like to know what could have done it though.

Any idea as to cost to fix it ?

Maybe a van door ( front side or rear) opened in haste ? U've got to watch these Delivery Vankers, sometimes  Alternatively a 4X4 or up & over garage door just catching the duck tail peek on it's travel.

Re: cost to fix ? I'd say cheap fix would be to get a Silver Grey touch up kit from BMW for about £12 squid and a sturdy hand on a sunny day ;) :hahaha: ... expensive fix ? U'll need to probably have the uppers part of the boot lid (the Duck tail part) fully re-sprayed and colour matched and that could be £100's :bigcry:

Another option could be (although never used myself) one of those mobile chip repair guys

An old friend of mine used them once... they made a dog's dinner of it :clown: and he ended up with a two tone grey Porker in orange peel finish :banghead:

To have it perfect again it will need to be resprayed.

Or alteratively just get some touch up paint and then buff it up so its less obvious.

Thanks guys! Yeah some touch up paint is on there now but I think I will go to BMW and get a quote to see how much for a proper job done. Don't trust those mobile guys. I love it being pristine so really want it back to A1 condition soon. Just as well I was owed some holiday pay from work:thumbs:.

hi,sounds daft but a mate of mine had the same problem and it turned out to be his wife,s ring.when she slammed the boot down it scratched down past the primer, being a plastic panel makes the paint easier to damage .
it was in exactly the same place as urs cslgirl
only way to sort it properly is to local the chip and laquer whole boot lid .

Why do you think shopping trolley cslgirl?, maybe not high enough for the front, but what about the duck tail going under the handle ?

I recommend a respray to sort it out properly ..scroll down;)
