Murketts

On the recommendation of some on here, i left the CSL with Andy at Murketts last night for the Inspection II, hope they live up to thier good reputation!

While on the subject, i can't believe the difference in dealer pricing for an inspection when i phoned around the dealer network!???

Living with the 116-series lone car is ..er.. interesting!!

Unfortunately found that the car also needed Brake fluid and coolant change ....suppose you cant scrimp where brakes are concerned!

Hope they can also cure the creaking form the rear suspension?

PP.

Got mine back yesterday from the Spanish dealer, had it for 4 days.

Creaking is not something good, hope its not your subframe mate. Fingers crossed for you.

Worry not friend ;) they look after 50+ CSL so you're in good hands  and Andy seems a very enthusiastic, approachable , all round "good bean" kind of chap . If you have an extended BMW Warranty, even better :supz: as the creaking might be the infamous RTABs

Please let us know what the creaking turned out to be. I'm suffering from a creak on the back end of my car and BM cant find the problem. :banghead:

Some E46s (not just the M3s) have had recalls for cracks in the rear chassis, in the RTAB area. I would have thought, they've checked that first  but it's best to ask

The cracks in the rear chassis are at the points where the rear subframe mounts, if its really bad it can make a creaking and popping sound.

Murketts

Picked the car up from Murketts on saturday and alls well.

Did see several CSL's waiting for service, two grey / one black. I believe they are in good hands guys.

The only extra's found were coolant and brake fluid interval changes were required.

Handing over a CSL and getting a 116i loaner is a bit dissapointing but i guess insurance overheads limit this these days?

The 'creaking' from the rear turned out to be the usual RTABs on the rear trailing arms!

The chaps gave great service, as promised, and i would recommend them myself.
