According to the ThisIsMoney inflation calculator:

CSL 2003 = £58,000

Today the CSL would cost £80,022.60

So a CSL can be had for under 40 grand !! Hello what ??? Have we had a price increase yet again ???

Mines on 112k now. Gonna still be in the 20's ??

As a recent buyer into this marque, I feel able to comment here.
I have been watching prices for a while now wanting one but thinking it was too late to get one, as prices are rising all the time it seems.

So you can still buy a CSL for <£30k but they are becoming few and far between. There were 2 being advertised for £29,995 when I was looking and I was tempted to get one of those, until sjb's came along.

Most are around £32/33k. Some are more but generally they are <50k miles and from specialist profiteering garages.

I wanted one as they were always one of those cars 'you simply had to experience' and a great drivers car. It also made sense as they are currently (and have been for some time) great investments. I'm pretty sure I'll only have mine for a couple of years before buying something else (996 GT3 Gen 2 is the next target).

If things carry on as they are (as mine will not rack up miles) good example cars will hit £35k+ I'm sure, and higher milers will hit £30k without any issue.

CSL values have increased moderately since 2011 and most owners purchasing or selling have benefitted from this. We still have some way to go before the E46 CSL is in the same tier as the E9 or the E30.
What is really good of late is the high mileage examples now increasing in value as the garage queens all become buried in dehumidified storage.

The real eye opener is current GT3 RS values....Off the chart.
2 Viper green RS's advertised in the last 3 months have retailed at 179,000
and 150,000. These owners must be over the moon.:thumbs:

No plans on selling, so its more than just an investment for me. Not sure I'd like to imagine a day I'd be without the Cesil :bigcry:
