how do you change the battery in ther remote
as above anyone know thanks
|
I think you just buy a new key. They recharge when they are in the ignition.
If you want to change it you can do it with a soldering iron though: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...ht=key+battery |

I think they do charge up when they are in the ignition.
Although a new key from the dealers is about £80 IIRC. |
my car's battery went flat due to lack of use then the poxy alarm is doing it's nut at 4am why does'nt it ever happen at 4pm :banghead:
now my button's dont work coincedence? |
Yes they do charge up but rechargable batteries do die in the end.
I recall the price being higher than that - you need to pay labour for coding it to the car too, had to have one as the dealer lost my key while servicing it (unbelievable eh!). |
My alarm started going mental (always in the middle of the bloody night) - unplug the bonnet switch and see if it goes away, if it does then swap that, was about £7 and took 2 mins.

The bonnet switch on E46's are well known to fail and cause the alarm to go off.
A simple replacement cures that problem. |
the alarm was triggered but the car battery going flat
