lifting while changing gears
So I was told by an instructor that banging gears while being flat on the accelerator is slower than if I lift a little then change gears. It certain makes the shift smoother but more importantly, am I saving time or losing time?

Full Throttle shifts are always guaranteed to make the fastest shift in the current situation possible. I think your instructor is wrong on that occasion. |

First I've heard of this. Cant imagine it being quicker over foot to floor and changing gear in S5 or S6 mate. |
.........just after he told you to "feed the steering wheel through your hands". :hahaha:

yeah.
I was a bit puzzled as well. normally I don't hesitate to do full throttle upshifts but he had me thinking a bit. I also mentioned that I wanted to try triangulation on hairpins. He didn't like that as well. something about my car being too heavy. Shimmy, what's the verdict on trying to vee a hairpin in the CSL? |
