UPDATE FOR NOW
BMW are just trying to put together a trAckday either side of the Munich dates so just holding out for them before going mad.

I have copied relevant posts from above so this post summarises where we are.
Quote:SUMMARY
Ok, so the provisional dates are 25-28 May 2013 (Bank Holiday weekend in the UK)

Munich days within that are Sunday 26th and Monday 27th May with travel and trackday(s) being arranged for the 25th or 28th or both.

I am currently looking for hotel options in Munich for 2 nights for a group booking, arrival late saturday 25th and depart late afternoon on the 27th

SO BOOK THIS OUT IN YOUR DIARIES NOW and look out for the new thread when i get my BMW reply and my act together

Provisional CSL Attendees (65 maybe, 2 unlikely, 8 other cars)

Just for your info my plan is to arrange from dinner Saturday 7pm in Munich say to around Tuesday 6pm after the trAckday where we go our one separate ways.

That means smaller groups can arrange their own travel to and from Munich/Saltzburg from those times after the New Year (I would not book anything that is not changeable until then). Groups can rrnage to drive out Friday and do the Ring Saturday or do a Euro trip after the trAckday, alternatively travel out direct Saturday via Chunnel or the Hull Love Boat and travel back overnight to get to work.

I would recommend that each group/area set up their own thread in the Events section.

Has anyone had any thoughts on what route to take? Would the plan be to go via the UK and meet up with the Engerland etc. guys and travel together to Munich?
Niall

Niall as per Jonnys post in the other thread hull rotterdam is definitely the way to go from Ireland. Snag is this, Overnight boat plus we miss meeting up with the troops in england, which I would imagine will be an experience in itself. Shimmy post makes sense with the non mass convoy but having done a cannonball amongst other things driving in a large pack is a joy to behold :-D

Once we have confirmed numbers from Ireland I think it would be a good idea for us to shop around a little for prices and deals that might be achievable.

Could be on with some from North England. Love boat from hull to rott/zebrug ain't so bad. Not 100% going & will check back in here.

Hello Boys, couldn't help notice your posts, I see you're considering the logistics of the forthcoming event, which are going to take some sorting. Where are you thinking about going from Belfast/Heysham or Dun Laoghaire/Hollyhead.

Wherever, you've certainly got some driving to do, just to get to Hull approx. 4hrs on this side of the water, presuming the latter: A56, M56, M62 and then it's back on a boat.

I think there may be some fragmentation of the convoy concept when you consider other member from Scotland, North Wales and the North of England doing a 4/8hr drive South, it could be that you will be meeting up with the Northerners on the M62, it's early days yet, know doubt 'shimmy' (the management) will post something indicating what he's got in mind.

That’s the way to do it Shimmy, be there at a set time, how you get there is up to you!

Group bookings for hotels etc but travel arrangement up to the individuals, I remember going to the car shows in England years ago & it would’ve demented the most sanest of people, you’re going to fast, to slow, some dickhead would get left behind at a set of light...

Max of 3-4 cars together of like minded drivers.

I would make the first meeting point the ferry terminals, channel tunnel crossing etc.

If we were going to Hull it would be A75-M6, of at Penrith & over to Scottish Corner then down the M1.

Have the boys from the dirty south looked into the Rosslare crossing? I went with a girl from Wexford & its pritty accessible this end, not sure what time/miles it would save but cuts out England.

I normally don’t plan this far in advance for anything but my only sister is getting married soon after & I would cut my own throat if I wasn’t there for whatever reason! However pencil me in at this stage.

I'll can catch the Irish convoy on A75 if thats alright - then presumably the rest of the Scottish lads on M6 / A1?
