Popped in today with my Cecil to get his gear box oil changed and SMG updated to the latest version. While there wasn't anything wrong with the car, I do like to get things sorted before they need to be :smokin: This is commonly known as "preventative maintenance" amongst OCD sufferers ;) and as the last gear oil change was in 2009 @ 66K during the previous Inspection 2 (just before I purchased Cecil) I wasn't particularly happy to wait another 14 months / 15K miles until the next Inspection 2 service. Infact this has been bugging me since last summer and as it turned out the old gear oil was well & truly used so this was very timely + the latest SMG update has really sharpened up things too, it's instantly noticible through the seat of the pants with really smooth but crisp & precise actions.
I highly recommend doing the above to anyone who may have forgotten about the often overlooked gear box oil, sooner rather than later  this is especially important to the guys who still brave their Cecils Track-side :supz:

Huge THANX to Gareth & Natalie @ Bartlett Automotive for their grand efforts with my Cecil. Great service & friendly hospitality. Thank you guys  and keep up the good work.

It's probably best you speak to Natalie @ Bartlett on: 01480 459771 for an accurate quote but it shouldn't be much more them £150 all in, including the correct BMW MTF LT2 gear oil.
IMHO it's a small price to pay to prevent future gearbox problems

DUVAY @ Barts

Matt

Great to hear Germany's finest is getting the best

Had the SMG update last week but as yet haven't had the chance to experience the difference

Propshaft doughnut replacement has been a success with noticeably smoother transmission.

Summer's almost here!!!

Indeed Ben  I've been very fortunate to have Gareth work on my Cecil since 2009 (when I bought it) and we've been following him from Murketts to Elms and now @ Bartlett for all scheduled servicing & warranty work
BTW... British summer is here !!! don't miss it
