Five yellow lights Help

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all

Got a problem today with the motor only a brief drive to pick something up locally. DSC-handbrake-ABS-Runflat-Gearbox light's all came on suddenly but what was more of a concern was when i pulled up the throttle revved to the full on it's own the car was stable and my foot was no where near the acc pedal. Car is safely back tho so it's a trip to the techie's ASAP had a search about this but could'nt find much info but just wondering if anyone has had something similar to this or read anything somewhere else and might know roughtly what the damage is :bigcry:

Jez

Took a pic btw..

Normally when you get a failure across all those systems it's down to a failure of a common sensor such as a wheel speed sensor. Those systems all take a feed from the WSS. From memory I think the steering angle sensor can have the same result too (not 100% on that). Only strange bit is the revving engine! Plug it in and the answer should be in the error log

Wheel speed sensor? No idea about the revving on it's own though.

Mine was a wheel speed sensor[ABS] same lights on dash as yours, all done under warranty, but i think the part was about £80.As Elliot says, same lights for steering angle sensor.Revs are a bit strange though, after hanging around m3 forums for a few years ive never come across that before.Hope this helps anyway.;)

Cheers lads

Not too bad then although the engine build up rev going christine on me was a concern it was as if the motor wanted to launch it's self very odd.. has been mapped?

D... ive checked under the hood for things like that lights are still there.

As has been said, most likely is wheel speed sensor but revving suggests a throttle position sensor instead.

I've had this before too just after getting off the ferry in France - wheel speed sensor. Sorted for €20 at Dunkirk BMW!

The Revving is a bit of concern as mentioned, keep us posted on what it is. Hope it's Simple mate.
