" Clubber's CSL Journal "
Hey Everyone,
This is a mini journal of my CSL. Will try to update as I go along with info that would hopefully be helpful to all of us. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After carefully reading every track addicts choices and advices, I decided to go for a lightweight 18" track wheels and Cups for my track work. And use the 19" CSL's with Michelin Super Sports (Awesome in the rain btw). I just heat cycled them for 15 min of moderate twisty driving and will be parked till tomorrow for the full effect. They are 18x9 ET40 OZ Ultraleggera wrapped in 265/35/18 Michelin Cups. 10mm Spacer in the front and 20mm in the back. Will try them this weekend at the track looking forward for my first CUP experience. Here are a couple shots, will add more after the track day. Thanks for looking. http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps8f7fd602.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps50a2f337.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps5cf2a761.jpg |

Wheels weigh 8.7kg each compared to 12.6kg and 13.8kg for CSLs. I forgot to put them on a scale with the tires but will do on Monday when I take them off and switch back to CSL'S with Michelin SS. I'll update this thread with exact weights of both setup. The weight will be a nice difference but, my main reason for this setup was cost and to eliminate slight understeer with wider fronts. Since this is a square setup, you can rotate the wheels front and back, left and right. Hence longer life (At least thats the plan) With OEM CSL setup, cups cost around %15 more (might me different in UK or other countries) and you can only switch left to right. Not to mention the 18 sizes are much easier to find. |
