1M CSL project

Hello guys. I would like to ask you if it is possible to put an S54 from a CSL into the 1 series? I'm looking for a strictly track day car so i'm think of buying a second one 1 series model, not a 1M this time, just a 120d Coupe, make all the 1M's body conversion and put the S54 in.

Is anyone familiar with that kind of conversion?

There is a 1M with the V8 dtc fitted not sure this will help but its 1 fast car

It's been done I'm sure I've seen it, can't find the link but remember it was a grey 1M with a CSL engine and CSL Esque tweaks like a carbon roof, front end with single hole and duck tale type boot etc.

On iPhone at the moment so not easy to do a full search of the site, rob posted it I think

I've seen that car @ Quarry Motors BMW breaker who were selling it a few years ago and that was based on a 118d Coupe using the 4.0 V8 out of the E9x M3 + HARTGE did a 5.0 V8 conversion (out of the E39 M5) using a 5 door 1 series hatch shell:http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/...ries-hartge-v8 ... proper sleeper :smokin:

Isn't it an ex-CSL owner has that? He's on Instagram as "Tarmac Terrorist"

Love that Hartge! :smokin:

I believe that the first conversion of a V8 engine inside in an 1M was made in US and not long after the completion the car was crashed. It was a white one.

I would love to see it. I intend to put a Vorsteiner carbon roof, maybe a small and discreet CSL look alike bootlid and of course the whole engine-transmission conversion. No CSL bumbers and things like that.

One of the first conversion that a serious tuning house made. Amazing since today! Respect to the HARTGE people.

Very interesting but why a CSL engine ?

I have another project.
An M6 stripped and caged.
1st stage 700PS and I am sure it will obliterate GT3s and the likes.
