My car for sale :(

SOLD

Due to the impending arrival of a new motor my Mini Cooper S is up for sale to CSLers. It will go onto Pistonheads etc around 15th March.

BMW Mini Cooper S
January 2004
1.6 litre Supercharged R53
Graphite Grey with Black trim (mirrors/roof/spoiler)
Mileage approx. 73,400
6 Speed Manual

MOT until December 2014
Taxed until 2015
Full BMW Service History, last one was inspection 1 (June 2013)
Visibility Pack
Chilli Pack inc half leather seats and xenons
USB/Ipod interface
Clutch was replaced late 2012
Stock no mods
Run Flats have been removed and normal tyres now fitted :)
2 Previous Owners

The car was bought as it was so well kept and is inn fantastic condition. I had looked at a few but this one just stood out. Wife doesn't want to sell it so please anybody that knows her DO NOT TEXT HER and tell her please especially as she will have to drive an ugly 1 series next.

I had an HPI done when I bought the car in July 2013 and that is available to all. I have photocopies of the V5 and Service record for anybody interested.

The amazing thing about these cars apart form how fun they are to drive is that insurance is cheap and mpg can be up to 40 mpg on long runs.

From any CSLR I will take £3800 now or you can wait until it goes up fro general sale and try to barter me down from £4100.

For an extra £200 you can have a set of newish (2014) winter tyres on black rims.

Graham 09-03-2014 05:16 PM

Great cars. Just sold my Mrs white Cooper S for £4100 with similar mileage so it's a fair price :-D

Mine wanted the Abarth version, but too much hassle with dealers/warranty so ended up with Mini JCW, result.

She had her heart set on the Abarth but a number of things swayed the decision:

Better ride (even on run flats)
Faster, she likes to put her foot down now & again (all the time at home)
Nicer cabin. Really liked the built in sat nav, control layout
Better motorway cruiser
Larger boot for shopping
Perceived quality

Must say its a hoot to drive

SOLD

shimmy 24-02-2015 09:09 AM

Was offered £32k for my CSL very recently as it stands with Intrax, Supersprint, extra track rims and Cups as well as standard rims and MPSS, all in track mode ready for driving and not polishing.

Not tempted at all.

only if someone pays me enough to get another one with less miles and some cash left over

billyboysm3 25-02-2015 11:01 AM

Its £40k all day long, these cars are far to cheap.

You have new M3 and M4 which will drop like anything. Next step up is Pork and that is 250% more than a CSL.

Doubt Id take anything less than £40k for mine.

Might take £50k in 5 years time.

LeinsCSL 25-02-2015 02:25 PM

What are CLK Blacks doing these days? That's probably the next step up from the Cesil now that Pork prices have gone car-azy

nw99 25-02-2015 03:15 PM

CLK blacks are stable I was offered one recently and it's been for sale for months .limited market it seems !

HFLagos 25-02-2015 05:25 PM

CLK63 Black is indeed a limited market, over the years quite a few have come up for sale, but only 25 cars ever came to the UK through official channels so there is a bit of turnover. (There have been a couple of Middle East/US examples too).

I tend to only see them up for sale at Romans or Bramley, the 29k miler at Romans has been there for quite a while, Bramley had to drop their 22k miler to close to the Romans price for it to sell. 2 years ago the 20k milers were selling for £65k'ish, now they are early £70's but I assume their sale price is back in the £60's somewhere.

In standard form the gearbox could be better I believe.

LeinsCSL 25-02-2015 07:47 PM

Strange that they've not gone north lately too then, but as you say it might be the CLK's autobox that puts people off. 996 GT2s were hovering for a long time around the £50k mark too

alexk 25-02-2015 07:53 PM

Maybe I should list mine for 200k CHF.
They sell M3 GTS here for this money...

Yanto 25-02-2015 07:56 PM

I looked at Bramley - the one they recently sold (22k miles).Lovely car but advertised at c.73k and would only drop a few hundred. About October last year.
Now recently sold.

There was a car up north that sold quite quickly I enquired on, but procrastinated and it went quickly.

I think there are 3 UK cars (2 black, 1 red) and a black lhd car for sale .

Seem very price sensitive above / below 20k miles. Colour a big differentiator also. Red seems unloved.

But a mighty car that's still on my radar this year.

HFLagos 25-02-2015 09:36 PM

Been on my radar too :)

Whatever the sale price though, need to factor in another £7-8k for the gearbox mod.

nw99 25-02-2015 11:40 PM

Anyone wanting to sell their CSL with low mileage to me can switch into a Black Amg .

if you are talking about the car up north that was at GC Motors, it was actually brought by a mate of mine.

The car is really impressive and totally under-rated. Maybe a little heavy on track, and the gearbox not great but the rest of the car

Yep, was GC. Seemed good price point compared to others in play. Good for him (or her) :smokin:

shimmy 16-05-2017 05:06 PM

Gonna put it up for sale end June, initially as it is with everything included and see if somebody wants the old dear as she stands for a fair price

If no decent offers then I'll put her back to standard OE and stick her on PH

Time to move on

You've not missed anything as I've not said.

It will be a new car as I love to drive them and hate to see them parked up inside.

Won't be a BmW this time.

Trawler 16-05-2017 08:29 PM

Im guessing Pork.

No. Done, finished. The time is right as I hate putting her in the garage and putting the cover on.

You sound unwavering mate. I'm pleased for your conviction, but part of me feels incredibly sad :(
