Outdoor cover recommendations

I am thinking of getting an outdoor cover for my CSL for when it is outside over the winter. I am aware of the issues with making sure that the car is properly clean first, but does anybody have any recommendations for makes of good tailored covers, or any experience of using them?

Bought the official BMW one , actually not using it anymore if you are looking for one like that I could sell it . It's only been used 4 times .

Thanks, I would be interested in more information on that. I am also looking at Specialised covers which I have been recommended.

I bought an m3 outdoor car cover what a pile of shite ended up rubbing the paint work and £300 later on a wet sand detail from a friend bmw refunded me the cost.

Subscribed as I'm after one too for winter but an indoor one.

We did have a group buy on the go last year but it came to nothing.

I had an internal soft fitted BMW cover (came with car) then a thick blanket covered car top to bottom, then tarpaulin sheet, then fitted a carband followed by outdoor cover breathable belted underneath, car was outside since July 2011 just gone into garage April 2016, no issues.

Saw Craig's csl 3 weeks ago and have to say it was looking grand.

Had the rarest set of cups in the northern hemisphere. ;) :gayfight:

I have the BMW one.......its shite. So fragile and tears just looking at it. Car was under it during winter and it destroyed the paint on both sides.

I personally wouldn't use the outdoor BMW cover, it's very light so if there is any wind it tends to buffet and it will leave marring / rub marks on the paint, unfortunately the BMW ones are not regarded to be much use unless it can be kept out of the wind.

I use a Classic Additions Ultimate Outdoor cover, it's 4 layer, fully breathable and waterproof, comes with three straps for securing the cover down, i've had mine a couple of years and being quite heavyweight it's very good for winter storage.

You know this already but never cover a dirty car, not unless you fancy machine polishing all the swirl marks out after!
