Side Grill Emblem

Guys,

My emblem is going slightly yellow so want a new set. Do I just buy the sticker emblem or do I need to buy it with the back plate?

51137895912 (just the CSL sticker)
72127900607 (with back-plate)

Is it easy to remove the old sticker? Don't want to destroy a perfect fine side grill just so I can get rid of a pet peeve. :hahaha:

Have you removed the sticker and backing plate as they virtually fall out. You should be able to prize it out with your nails.

The fun is removing the sticker. How much is the back plate?

If its not much Id buy new to save prating about

going call my local suppliers tomorrow to find out. They list for about the same price on realoem so I'm guessing there's nothing in it. I'll update the price here tomorrow once I find out.

Funny they would provide 2 part numbers when they could just force us to replace with back plate. hmmmmm.....

When I did this few years ago I bought the CSL side emblem with the backing plate as it was cheaper then the stick on emblem on its own :smt017
Yes I know this does not make a whole lot of sense :clown: but that's how it was.

Kind of weird, but sounds like the better deal with the back plates as no need to mess with removing the old sticker. Going to call dealer shortly to find out.

P.S. Dealer just quoted around 21GBP for the set. Not bad.

If you do want to remove the sticker from the backing plate, a hair-dryer makes it easy.

thx mate. I guess its like removing those clear bras. Recently had to remove the headlight bra from the GTR and with the dryer it was like slicing butter with a knife.

P.S. If you didn't mention it I would have carried on my old way and try to pry the thing and mess up the grill. Never know what the supplier will send me, may be just the stickers in the end as they were a little unsure.

Just ordered another one of these (milking on these stickers, wheel caps and the door sills...again....) and for the record it's still cheaper to buy the sticker and the backing plate together.

The sill plates are available, just need to provide chassis number as usual.

Ahem....£130 each or so. At the rate they degrade their must be a factory somewhere churning them out.
Gill stickers on their own are £32 or so and stickers plus backing £25 or so.
