Dumfounded to receive the following email:

"Thank you for your interest. Well I was about to take a deposit on the car and sell for £31,000. It's much more than I paid 4 years ago, and I'm reasonably happy with that sort of figure."

WTF I thought. Called the guy, left a message, got a call back to be told it was still for sale, that he was in Oxford at his in-laws and would be returning the next day. Many of the things he said during the conversation were inconsistent with someone who knew the first thing about CSLs and before the conversation was over it became obvious he was full of sh8t. To be sure I googled his supposed garage and found the following threads:

Got an email shortly after asking for my full name and address and the deposit amount I would be paying to his 'business account' to hold the car until tomorrow. I replied telling him Id meet him at the advertised garage with a deposit in cash. Got a reply saying he had taken a deposit from someone else...

Beware of this con artist

I hope this tool will be reported to Trading Standards sharpish... plus the other Auto Trader who's reg. details are being cloned :banghead:
