Those with KW Clubsport or Competition please help
Can one of you please measure the length of your front swaybar end link for me please (hole centres will do).
My understanding is the factory swaybar links will not work with these kits and that a significantly shortened version is required. Also anybody with a spare brand new set for sale or can get hold of one swiftly please let me know!! Cheers Tom |
You need KW ones. http://www.kw-suspension.co.uk/ normally have them in stock. Something like 20-30 each.

I take it you mean the little black arms with a bearing on each end that link the strut to the wheel hub assembly?
You should get a pair of KW ones with the kit? Try KW UK if you need a pair: KW Automotive UK Ltd. Willow Tree House Bromley Green Road Upper Ruckinge Ashford Kent TN26 2EQ Phone: 0870 990 7536 http://www.kw-suspensions.co.uk/uk/index.php |
Quick Update.
I called KW UK this morning as planned hoping to speak with Richard but no answer (will try again shortly).
I also called K300 Performance and asked if they stock the needed items, again they said no stock and they'd only go through KW UK anyway. They are to call me back with prices & expected availability for both drop links & the needed top mounts. I will email you direct when I hear back from either. I can say im not too impressed with KWs customer service so far or their efforts of stocking parts in the UK. |

Looks like this: http://shop.kwsuspension.de/kwshop/i...0/68510001.jpg Alex has been helping me to track down a set of these as the factory end links won't work given the mounting tab is some 60mm lower than the factory item. I've been trying to track down some adjustable items from elsewhere but I need to know the actual length. The mounting holes are exactly the same diameter as factory (i.e. 10mm). I believe the factory links are 10.6" long and have a suspicion that the KW ones are close to half that length - but I need confirmation. And Alex thanks for all your help on this - I owe you big time!! |
Sway bar?
Don't answer him until he calls it an anti-roll bar! Next we'll be talking about hoods and trunks!:clown: |

There'll probably be a set of KW Competitions for sale for VERY CHEAP shortly. |
Hi,
NZ_M3- Take the standard front drop links. Once you know what length you require, with your new suspension fitted etc, cut the standard drop, into two halves so that when put together they are about 10mm short, thread the two cut ends to M10 std pitch, and use a ''10mm stud connector'' to join the 'two halves' together and lock with 2 10mm half lock nuts. You then have simple 'adjustable' front drop links so that you can remove any front ARB pre load. Simply to replace if one snaps as they do from time to time. Regards, The Gorilla. |

Already thought of that as my fall back position - but was after the stock setup if I can. Thanks for the suggestions regardless. Just to be clear - when I bought the kit I knew the links weren't included in the deal - I guess both the seller and myself falsely assumed that the stock item would work when it didn't - hence the issue now. Seller's not to be blamed for the lack of end links here. |
Guys ... NZM3 / KK
you now have emails from KW in Both UK that have the part your after in stock and ready to ship and from Germany offering full explanation / help to get kit sorted and additional set up if needed. Please check your mails, let me know if I can be of any further assistance. ;) Daz |
Thank you Darren!
Something's in the pipe work now to get this resolved. Have to say the seller has come through professionally thus far and KW will look into a solution once they get the faulty unit back in possession. |
