CSL Cup at Donington

Hi everyone considering going as a spectator to see what goes on behind the scenes, are you allowed access to pits, pitlane and garages? I presume saturday is practise/ qualifying and sunday is raceday? Any complimentry tickets? (if you don't ask you don't get!).

thanks Steve Fitz.

Thorney 19-09-2010 08:16 AM

Yes all completely open.

rs4steve 19-09-2010 08:44 AM

Thanks John

My plan is to come along Shim, although that may depend on what day I'm picking my trailer up, and got to collect the wasp car too.
I'll let you know mate.

Seen that myself on TSL timing, 1.14 seems a quick lap, not too far off the pace.
And he is with the wild man next friday getting some tuition. Things can only get better.

Good on you guys:beer:

if he gets a second or more quicker with Wildsie i will HAVe to say "I told you so" :hahaha:

Radders 27-09-2010 09:23 AM

great weekend! one of the best despite some problems.

first race 2nd to last lap i thought my tyre had come off the rim, car was all over the place, off the road etc around every corner. adam was about 5 seconds behind me and i pushed on as hard as i could. wasnt guna stop with only 1 lap to go. anyway adam got past and i crept along the line. turned out to be my shocks, one had come loose completely and the other was hanging off!

2nd race me and adam did really well (adam drove a stonker!!), first corner Russ was turned around and this opened up the race. 2nd to last lap i was approaching a lapped car, he ignored the blue flag/didnt use his mirrors, i gained on him with a massive speed difference and didnt want to back off, decided to go around the outside of him but he pushed me off the track onto the dirt which then resulted in me touching the tyre wall on the opposite side of the track. damage was only cosmetic and just a new wing and a dent in the rear quarter. bumpers and door are fine.

if your guna crash then the last lap of the last race of the season is the time to do it.

Dan 27-09-2010 10:05 AM

Sounds like a good day over all then!

Will certainly try and make it along to a few races next year, when does next season start? lol

Was the circuit the same layout as the touring cars used? 1:14 is massively quick IMO as I think were lapping around 1:12.5? :smokin:

Hazy 27-09-2010 10:58 AM

What an epic weekend!! Me Radders Russ and the Intersport boys as always had an awesome weekend, we had a great paddock area set up, the four cars under awnings flanked by Kevs giant motorhome, my racetruck and Waynes 45ft race trailer!

Kev Clarke has an orange and black scooter which matches the Tango twins so it got labelled Tango III and stickered up with Like2bid stickers when the Intersport boys werent looking :hahaha::hahaha::hahaha:

Great racing, well happy with the car and the way I drove, Kev helped us enormously and selflessly with our car set up on the Friday, but he said my diff was duffed, which I knew anyways. My car is 50bhp short of everyone else, so I reckon with a bit more power, a proper diff and Wildsies help 1:13's should be easily possible.

I have loved the CSL cup this year, one of the best (albeit most expensive :hahaha:) experiences of my life

Congrats to Dan for winning the title, he has been the best driver all year and throughly deserves it. :supz:
