New to the forum

Thought i'd introduce myself to you guys seen as though the forum has helped me a lot with the guides etc.

Not a CSL owner yet but will be as soon as I manage to find a car that suits me.

Almost agreed a deal on one yesterday only to find out it was previously written off and repaired and not recorded.

I currently drive a '07 Audi S3 which i'm hoping to P/X so that pretty much rules private sales out (also have a 2001 S3 and a 1983 Mk1 Golf 16v G60)

Thanks! - Yes it's a shame as someone is going to buy that car and not be aware of the history. The more I look at the car in the pictures the more it jumps out at you that something isn't quite right (Painted over carbon bits on the bumper etc).

I think I may have to revise what I'm willing spend on one and how far i'm prepared to travel.

Welcome mate!!!!

Its well worth taking your time and spending the money on the "right" car.

Andyk 08-05-2009 03:54 PM

Welcome.....glad you found out before it was too late. Finding the right car will be worth it in the end.

whopwop 08-05-2009 05:54 PM

Hi and welcome,
What Ejit would paint over the carbon ... Ha ha :clown:

yep, took me 6 months to part with the cash ;)

Welcome JordanH, and good luck in finding the right car.

Now you come to mention it, my car is For Sale...no its not really. I had mine out for the 1st time in 7 weeks and fcuk me, she's still got it! That induction roar and the batter in the back you get when changing gears stills surprises me after 3 years of ownership. She is some car.

Actually, after I wrote off my 1st M3, I thought about an S3. The security of 4WD was a big attraction, but I'd only had my 1st M3 for 6 weeks and had to have another. Here I am on my 3rd. The CSL is mighty though!

Good luck mate and welcome.

Andyk 08-05-2009 08:53 PM

JordanH my mate has 2 CSL for sale at the moment. The black one is his own car...not sure how far away you are but if of interest give him a call and mention myself and you may get a good deal.

Warm welcome Jordan,

May I recommend you give Iain a call at Pitstop ( http://www.pitstopautomotive.co.uk/ ).

He sold my Focus ST for me while I was away; I guess I might have sold it for £8.5K privately after waiting a while rather than the £8K but I didn't advertise it, didn't have to put up with tyre kickers and I could physically be there which limited me slightly! He may be able to get a good deal for your S3 enabling you to look at private CSLs or perhaps more. Finance deals have moved on recently (for the worse for the individual I agree) and I'm not sure what is being offered right now but he may be able to work things out for you. Say Kier with the CSL suggested you. He is a no-nonsense, not in your face type of bloke who will not make false promises or fail to deliver; well he was like that for me on the ST sale, the finance and although I sourced the car, he checked the recorded history etc.

Must be worth a try?

Nords 09-05-2009 10:49 AM

PS Morpheus has a black CSL for sale, I saw it 4-5 months ago and it is very nice. I din't go for it because I found 'mine' around the same time which was just perfect (3x sets of rims, full armourfending, APs , Intrax, silver hence faster etc).

His is very clean, looks great with full red APs on the black, not a Rockingham car (I checked) or had accident damage repair through BMW (I checked again). 32K miles, I'm guessing. Phil, are you out there??

Edit: Found his advert in the classifieds on here...

Nords 10-05-2009 12:17 AM

That's the one...

JordanH 10-05-2009 09:26 PM

Hi guys, thank you for the very warm welcome.

Yes it was that car, the garage is sure it's a different car but the old reg matches so i'm giving that a wide birth.

One has just come up on PH at a garage called Driven Image which is fairly close to me (i'm in Nottinghamshire) - looks to be on the money for me.

I won't be needing finance, just a fair trade in price and i'm happy :) - thanks for all the suggestions.

I do love the S3, it's been good to me but I really need a car i'm not going to be tempted to modify as my Mk1 golf project is going to take up a hell of time and money.

Here's the S3

Nice looking S3, stick up some info and pics of your Mk1, always had a soft spot for them. would love one with a 20v engine in
