what do you do with your CSL

How many use the CSL in the winter ?

neil 02-11-2007 12:34 AM

Mark CSL 02-11-2007 12:57 AM

DO you beleve the weather man :119:

cslgirl 02-11-2007 02:36 PM

Yes use it all year round although not if its raining if I can help it. Got caught out driving back from Wales in July and it was properly hammering down - the cups worked well though considering how worn they are. Only one scary moment of aquaplaning! :smt103

I use mine all year round but prefer to use other car when there is lots of ice and snow on the roads - for obvious reasons.

CSLjimmy 15-11-2008 11:42 PM

Its going to be my every day car, rain or sun :smokin: Looking forward to getting used to it.

Gastro 15-11-2008 11:47 PM

I try to use mine everyday........ usually the route is home, work, BMW garage - repeat until sold :hahaha:

RichW 16-11-2008 07:16 AM

My last couple of Evo's i garaged all winter to keep the salt off them, was a nice rest from the constant ££££ spending too.

This cars already been through a few winters so i'll simply run it as normal, though to be fair, thats only at a weekend anyway :)

Andyk 16-11-2008 07:26 AM

Everyday Mark, although I only cover about 5k a year.

david 16-11-2008 09:17 AM

I don't use it much in fact around 4 to 5k per year, but whenever I need or want, I take it, mostly for track days, car evens. I use my company car of my golf convertible for everydays

M3CSLIRL 16-11-2008 12:04 PM

Garaged For the Winter Months! Indoor Heated Garage Also Under BMW Car Cover

E46ACS 16-11-2008 09:29 PM

Everyday, although I am thinking about getting a daily runner for the winter......

the reverend 16-11-2008 10:43 PM

Weekends only and will have to wash it more often as the weather deteriorates.
I must do about 3-4k miles a year in it but they're all sooo much fun!
The Reverend

Jaw_F430 16-11-2008 10:46 PM

Using mine everyday but really want to just use it when its nice :-D

shimmy 16-11-2008 11:18 PM

used daily (almost) over last two years.

used to have an RS6 to run for work but was falling to bits and CSL was only car for a while.....but now its relegated to the garage during the week and taken out on weekends only during the winter and the RRSport is now the winter tractor

AlexGTT 17-11-2008 11:37 AM

Mine will be tucked up under it's cover in the garage for Winter but will come out on nice days. Use a 335i tourer for daily miles.

donkcsl 18-11-2008 06:26 PM

Mine is tucked up under it's cover in the garage for Winter, will be back out in march for a ring trip

donkcsl 18-11-2008 07:48 PM

http://www.classicadditions.com/ its a great cover fits perfect

Andyk 18-11-2008 07:49 PM

I just couldn't tuck mine up for the winter .....it would just get the better of me and would have to get it out.

J13NY S 19-11-2008 01:49 PM

Sitting in a Carcoon for the next 2-3months, it also stops temptation.

http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/IMG_1936.jpg

Then as Donk says out in time for a bit more....

englebert 19-11-2008 03:48 PM

Cool! Have to say i just dont think i could leave the car for that long, i use it about twice a week and i still have withdrawal symptoms .

DazBlackCSL 19-11-2008 04:04 PM

Every single day in mine , rain , shine , snow , track , M4 , M40 , M1 (on way to TMS for gismo's) :hahaha:

Flat out in sport mode , must admit though with the KW3's on its going take a little while getting used to it again ... drove a 635d sport yesterday and felt like putting my feet up and getting a massage !!!! :P

DazBlackCSL 19-11-2008 04:37 PM

Mark CSL 19-11-2008 04:41 PM

david you can pick the colour of the cover and colour for the piping and add any badges you want but they are a little extra. I think the total price was £260 posted

david 20-11-2008 06:20 AM

That does happen to mine. If the weather is nice and no salt on the roads, the cover comes off and it'll get a blast. Just means I have to spend half a day cleaning it every time, which my wife tells me I am obsessive about. She's right. :-D

bryce 20-11-2008 09:56 PM

Weekends only really. Prefer it to be dry days this time of the year, nopt essential though.

Be interested to hear what other car you have if you put the CSL away for winter. And when its out, is it mainly for trackdays? Anyone lock up for winter and DONT track ever?

Thats why I asked mate. Its understandable if you've kicked crap outta it all summer, but if you havent? Hmmm

Andyk 21-11-2008 05:21 AM

Built to be driven.....so drive I say.

AlexGTT 21-11-2008 02:28 PM

Mine is tracked from April to October and crosses Europe a few times a year, so deserves it's lay up over Winter. But I can't resist taking it out if it's nice. I enjoy my daily motor but it's nothing like the CSL for pure driving pleasure.

SMD 22-11-2008 10:25 AM

Mine is tucked up for Winter.
Only coming out to have bits fitted ready for 09!

Nah, drive it when I feel like it.

No strict regime - try to avoid supermarkets and taking it to work though!
