cup tyres

hi chaps
i have the chance to buy some almost new cup tyres for next to nothing, but they come off a porsche and look slightly different ,anyone used these or have any info on them
cheers michael

Mark CSL 08-02-2009 09:59 AM

Michael They are crap give me his number

No they will be the new cups if they look slightly different
i think they are almost the same.
Are the the right size as the porsche has wider rears than a csl.

bryce 08-02-2009 10:28 AM

Will they be the same as the e92M3 Mark? Cup+ I think they call them.

shimmy 08-02-2009 10:28 AM

Cup+ like the E92 M3 have better wet weather performance but as a trade off to dry grip. Compund mix is different to Cups and also check if they are N rated in which case you will find the rears have stiffer sidewalks for rear engined cars although this may only be appropriate for PS2.

Also you will prob find the profile size slightly out!

SMD 08-02-2009 11:16 AM

The fronts will be worth having but i think the rears will be the wrong size etc!

Nords 08-02-2009 12:31 PM

There is more than 5mm of thread too, isn't there?

Hence they might not be as new as they look?

fronts are 235/35 x19 and the rears are 265/30x19 ,slightly wider groove than normal cup tyres ,can get them for £10 each

Err, OK. Think we know what's going on there. Don't give him your address or he'll be selling your car back to you in bits. :bigcry:

SMD 08-02-2009 09:34 PM

I will take a set!

E46ACS 08-02-2009 09:38 PM

houlbt 09-02-2009 01:53 PM

Sounds like you guys are just paying this guy to go and nick the wheels off some other poor CSL owner... no upside in funding these kinds of people.

Mark CSL 09-02-2009 02:01 PM

Then again they may be making them from used condoms??
Hence saving the environment and we are doing the world a favour.

But even I don’t think that LOL
