40k on the button, auto box, birds love them (especially Yorkshire ones with curly hair and cute arses.)

If you have not driven one I would strongly advise it, its a fantastic car. Actually my second favourite BMW of the last 25 years (after the CSL).

Ticks all the boxes IMO, if I had £40k right now that's where I would put it.

ME TOO:thumbs:

I might be wrong though, I usually am:119:

This one looks tempting Shane  http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...009-09/1480369

- CSL for depreciation proof. You did mention you do not like the idea of depreciation. :-D
- GTR for out and out supercar destroyer (need to mod for ultimate pleasure)
- E92 M3 if you are getting old and want some comfort :finga:
- AMG - dunno why you would consider that in this list unless its the C63 BS
- Gayman R is a great car but when you are being pissed on the autobahn you will wish you picked one of the big boys. :smokin:

If I could only have 1 based on your needs I'd probably pick the GTR BUT you will need to change the run flats and preferably install litchfields new suspension for it to work as a full on cruiser. Also, if you intend to track it too, tranny cooler is a must. The price of earlier models have bottomed as the newer vehicles are so much more expensive. Its a good choice, BUT IT NEEDS WORK!! :)

Happy hunting!!!

Well Shane
Just buy another M3 CSL you know its the right way to go
the CSL you know is a great track car good on road and with the one hand you can make it move faster than shimmy

They are going up not down in value just now and i don't see that changing any time soon :supz:

The M3 is a great car but with the new m4 on the cards and the V8 putting people off its losing money hand over fist just now.
Its a great car but who is going to buy it and at what price :(

The M1 was ok in my opinion not a great track car in my opinion
not a bad road car but with it only a Manuel gearbox not the best i would think for you to drive.

Get your self in an old CSL you know its the right thing to do:beer:

what about a 996 GT3 ? Rear seats can be retro fitted so that would keep the family happy .... depreciation appears to be bottoming out

EDIT : Sorry, just seen you want a flappy paddle

You may get about a years worth of fuel out of that!! They're great fun for about 30mins, then very tiresome. No way could I live with one. Nice noise, thats about it. Disgraceful economy (yes single figures) & running costs.

If I had to get an E60 it would be the Alpina B5. Now that is a serious bit of kit, And I would hazard a guess in real world driving would crap all over an M5;)

I always thought this engine was put in the wrong chassis.
I think it's a supercar engine on a fat/heavy sedan chassis.
It doesn't really make sense to me.
