You just ring up BMw Mondial and choose the policy, excess and annual or monthly contract.

They leave it up to you to prove later that the cr is properly serviced and maintained so don't just presume just because they have accepted the money, you'll get a pay out!

Monthly of your car is below 60k miles means that I won't go up at 60k miles as the contract doesn't expire, whereas if you pay annually you have to renew every year.

HOWEVER policies are limited to the purchase price YOU paid (you will need proof if they ask at any time) therefore monthly policy means as contract doesn't expire you have lifetime limit to claims whereas annual policy you have ability to claim up to value of car every year, but no guarantee they will renew every year!

No inspection and you can't claim in first month of policy (but the day after is ok):)

Sweet, thanks.

Is there a "Buy back in" charge or can you just start the monthly payments?

It costs a little more to renew a lapsed warranty.;)

Hmm, looks like the car I was thinking blows warranty rules anyway...

Inspection II - 02/02/09 27900 miles

Just less than 2 years, that's ok

2nd feb 2009 - 17th Jan 2011

I'd be more worried about how early that insp 2 was! It's normally about 40k + miles

I don't have a BMW warranty, for me, it's not worth it.
Few reasons, it's over 60K (63K to be exact), I do very limited mileage.

When I bought the car I paid for the engine to be pressure tested and also had it inpsected. I also don't rate the BMW dealers near me (infact their shite)and take the car to my local indie.
Ive decided to put £50 a month away and see how it goes.
So far Ive spent £166 on the throttle flap and are quids in , for now
Other things I've replaced have been W&T

Its a tricky one to be sure. For me, anyone who wants to play the "no modified/track cars" card would take one look at mine and just laugh.

I did get caught out with the SMG pump failing which was a pricey fix, made somewhat more opportunist for the dealer since the car was locked in gear so would have been a nightmare for me to get it to UB - had to AA it to the local stealer for bumrapage.

Given that the SMG has just been done, realistically I think I'm only "at risk" on the engine. Shimmy has posted up elsewhere you can get a 2nd hand motor for £3k, I'll hold him to that then ;-) I guess the saving grace is that its not a FI engine - they seem to be far happier at lightening your wallet !

preventative maintenance is my friend, so regular fluid changes and check ups. Oh and the car as well ;-)

Exactly , just bought 6l of oil and will change it myself every 6k.

Might even get the oil sampled

It's pot luck as best though.;)
