£330 per year and they will hold your no claims. I explained all the cars I use for daily are in my fleet but I didn't want to lose my personnel no claims.

They were happy with a valuation from CSL register if it was on a letter head.... Mark ?? ;)

I asked Elms yesterday if they could provide a valuation, after an initial yes, they cam back and said they could give me a verbal, but 'cannot provide a written valuation for insurance purposes'.

Dont know why, or if this will be all BMW dealers.

The BMW Car Club GB do valuations for insurance companies.
I don't know how it works, whether is any good and whether insurance companies honour these valuations

Alternative is should be unlucky enough to claim to submit adverts of similar behicles to your and their prices

I don't know whether many insurance companies just pay out the price of M3 CSL same as the market value of any other E46 M3 Coupe or not ?

Just got my agrred valuation through from Classic Line

I emailled all the required photos & got the valuation form completed & signed by a local specialist

Also, classic line covered me for my recent trackday with the BMW car club .

So far really impressed

Rather than start a new thread, resurrecting this one...

Time for my renewal (oh joy).
So;
30 years old
55,000 miles
54 plate
Garaged in DT9 (Dorset)
Increased the value from £28,000 to £34,000
Alcons
Supersprint exhaust
4,000 miles pa (reduced from 5,000 miles last year).
Self & 1 named driver (the old man)

Quote of £534.71 from Pace Ward. Last year it was £653.

Seems reasonable.
Trackday cover has changed though;
UK days - £98 per day
European - £113 per day
the Ring - On request. Closed days only. You need to know the dates and event organiser before they'll quote.

Will get a couple of quote to compare and post them up for reference.

Classic Line: £527.44 with a £350 excess.
Trackdays on referral, but they say typically they'll cover 3 in the UK and a 'small' charge for Europe.

Waiting for Need2Insure to give me a call back.

JBird 28-04-2014 01:47 PM

With classicline, 650 p/a for a 32y.o. limited to 5000miles. Ended up with them as CCI booted all their under 35s last year.

Considering shifting to Equity Red Star, they are a similar price but have 5 trackdays included on a host of UK tracks and any FIA approved European track (Ring excluded).

I use Need2Insure as a broker and have found them to be very helpful.

'Competition Car Insurance' used to be the main insurer for the CSL until they stipulated over 35's only. :clown:

Marv968 28-04-2014 02:52 PM

Cheers, next time I renew my insurance, I'll be 35, which is why I asked!

am with classic line too.

agreed value, 2000 miles per annum, locked garage etc....

AP BBK all round declared and has NO impact on policy as they see it as a good thing. changes to power and appearance do load up a policy.

£150 per annum. I am 40 years old. live in Kent not London though.

great company and great value.

Johnnywb 29-04-2014 11:22 AM

Just added Classic Line quote in to my previous post.

s.mac 29-04-2014 04:04 PM

£150 a year? Are you joking?
The robbing bastards are having me over if you're not....
Just shy of £500 and the car is in a locked warehouse/compound with 24hr security and it doesn't fucking move.

£150 all in per year is extremely good value Nick  Are you on the "Modern Classic" or the "Future Classic" policy ? and what level of "Agreed value" did you set yours at ?
Last time they quoted me it was just a smudge over £300 on a very similar set up to yours. I must get another quote

Das Chin 29-04-2014 06:54 PM

its a market value set at max of 25k matt. I need to sort out an agreed value with pics n that so that's in the post.
that includes breakdown and green card for 90 days if you need it. plus the declared BBK mods.
great bunch over there.

Cheers Nick  I'm going to have to get another quote from C.L. and aim for your £150 quote :smokin:

Pip1968 02-05-2014 09:06 AM

Being someone over 40 I was quite shocked to get my renewal from CCI and find a large increase from last year. The CSL came out at £662 and GT3 at £745 both with full NCB and limited mileage ~3,000 pa. The increase was something like 25% over last year.

I thought that with the disappearance of the difference between male and female premiums that premiums were supposed to be coming down.

Pip

Fasteddie 04-05-2014 01:47 PM

blimey, just renewed with CCI at just under £400. 4000miles, 5yrs NCD, haven't even stated garaged as it isn't always but I do have a large excess to help bring the premium down. The insurance isn't live yet I don't think so I need to check Classic Line

Fasteddie 04-05-2014 01:50 PM

in fact I don't see excess amounts on these prices and it does make a huge difference to the premium.

Having some trouble finding a good insurer for my CSL. I've tried Classic line as that seems to be the most popular on the forum but they won't insure me on the CSL as I'm under 30.

What are my options?

Sky Insurance? CCI? Adrian Flux? Any younger CSL owners care to share?

Also I want to get insured on an agreed value, as going by webuyanycar.com (apparently what most insurers use for payouts) my 30k mile CSL is worth £13,000...

billyboysm3 22-04-2015 04:14 PM

CCI insured me before they booted me out, now with Classicline but over 30 now :(

I just went onto compare the market and best one was for £250.

Agreed

Especially as Shimmy's hatched the fool proof plan to increase CSL values by 100%!!!

J77 22-04-2015 11:09 PM

Being 31 I'm glad I've got another reason to not renew with CCI as they NEVER answer the bloody phone.

AF

Agreed value £35K

73000 miles

£620

Went with them as they mirrored my NCB from the GP

SJA 30-04-2015 09:17 PM

Just about to switch to Classicline, £298 with an agreed value of 40k.

Not to bad imo.

$w!ft 08-05-2015 04:22 PM

Ok so I've finally managed to sort out my insurance.

Many thanks to Paul from Need to Insure who found the best deal for me. I would recommend him to anyone who's currently looking. He knows about our CSL's (and their recent price hikes).

Agreed value over £50k, modifications listed, trackday cover (5 trackdays a year) and I'm under 30.

CraigMillwardCroft 28-05-2015 06:06 PM

Just been quoted £400 with agreed value of 50K and 3000miles a year with Classicline, but they do not use NCB does this seem a good value, but do track day cover. car has only done 21600 miles.

s.mac 28-05-2015 07:40 PM

Craig they hold your NC, what you paying a year?
Mine is due soon, I'm at agreed value of 30k, at 53,000 I think, looks like I should up it. Due you need a proper valuation ?

They will do it for you Steve, send a few pics of your car and a couple of adverts of other cars with roughly the same mileage, tell them what you would like and bobs your uncle, you should be at least 40k now;)

s.mac 28-05-2015 07:45 PM

Cheers mate :)

Yanto 28-05-2015 09:32 PM

Does this agreed value thing really work ?

I just upped mine to £35k estimate, me and wifey, 6k miles, E14 war zone and it came in at £1200 and change.

If anything happens and they get a bit funky with payout, I'll just insist they find me one ?
