And for the doubters out there who don't believe I had a try last week, here is a snip of this weeks paper;)

In the last quarter of the game when the Hakes were back up to a full complement of 15 players it was evident that they were beginning to have the better of the play, fly half Ceiron Thomas began to push the home side back towards their own line with a succession of accurately placed kicks. On 63 minutes he had the chance to kick St Ives back in to the lead from another penalty, the kick was successful to make the score 12-11 to the visitors. From the restart it was the hakes who looked more likely to score, only 5 minutes after re-taking the lead Thomas kicked for the corner after another penalty, from the resulting attacking line out the St Ives forwards drove the ball towards the line enabling veteran prop Brett Rouncefield to successfully ground the ball for his first try of the season. The difficult conversion from a wide position was missed to give the Hakes a 6 point lead at 17 points to 11 with only 10 minutes left on the clock.

The Pirates Amateurs players re-started the game knowing that a converted try would see them regain the lead by a single point so they set about their task with renewed vigour. The St Ives defence was up to the job and resisted the attacks from the home players well. The Hakes had another chance to add to their score following another penalty that fly half Thomas placed perfectly in the corner. This time the lineout resulted in a 5 metre scrum to St Ives, the St Ives pack rallied themselves and as they shoved the Pirates scrum back towards their own line, the Pirates scrum then broke up leaving the referee no choice but to award St Ives a penalty try. The try was again converted by Thomas to win the game for St Ives by 24 points to 11.
