Now @ £24500

After much deliberation we're selling our cherished CSL.

We've owned this fantastic car for the past 4.5years but have decided it’s now time to move on. The car has covered 55K miles and is in excellent condition.

It has a full BMW service history as follows;
1181 – Sytner – running in check/oil change
11540 – Sytner – Oil Service
21148 – Westerly Barnstaple BMW – Inspection I – When I bought the car
32739 – Sytner Solihull – Oil Service
45781 – Rybrook Warwick BMW – Inspection II

It also has had all the brake fluid replacements as they fall due. The service indicator is showing 4000miles until the next oil change is due. The MOT runs until end of October 2011 and it is taxed until 30th Sept 2011

The car is always garaged and in the last 12 months has had the front discs and pads replaced with BMW OEM parts and the front bumper re-sprayed.

The car is on Continental Sport Contact tyres and has the following specification:
· BiXenon Headlamps
· BMW Business CD/Radio
· Air Conditioning

The car is completely standard and has never had any modifications.

The car also comes with a tracker which can be transferred to the new owner. The car is currently on a private plate which will be transferred back to its original 53 plate when sold. All the original documentation and spare keys come with the car, including the suede wallet.

I'll get some better pics up later, but here are the ones I have to hand.

Open to offers over £24,500k

Yep best of luck with the sale Paul.
Was your car that kicked me off on the CSL trail. Remember you posting the pics up on PF on it's arrival and thinking to myself "i've got to have one of those".

Whats next then?

Errrrr, back to an escort cosworth actually:whistle::whistle:

I really miss my old one even though it's not a patch in terms of handling. It's the engineer in me. I want something to tinker with and the csl is not the car for that. Plus the difference will go on a deposit for a new discovery which we want as a family car.

Escos is not a bad compromise and as you know will hold it's value just as well as the CSL.

Selling my old engine out of YUM at the moment ;)

Hang on in there Paul.
Your car is worth every penny to a genuine buyer, preferably a forum member. Rather than a price drop have you not considered pulling the car off the market for 8 weeks and re-advertising in April. Buy then the CSL buyers are out of hybernation !!!!

Any luck from this Paul?

Also there's one on eBay at the moment, it's similar to yours and ended at just over 20k last week but didn't meet reserve so it's been relisted and is already upto £24k with reserve met, so there's buyers out there for this sort of milage ;)

Good luck mate

If I had a bit more to play with then I'd be looking at yours, going for a high milage one instead (107k) - and you thought yours was high miles :hahaha:

Cheers Lawsy, what do you mean by a blouse auction though? do you think he has got a friend to bid £24k just to meet the reserve?

Usually auctions that dont meet reserve then relist and suddenly meet reserve are fake auctions.

Would you spend over 24k on a car on an auction you had never viewed?

65k is quite high miles...im trying to keep my search to lower mileage cars, certainly nothing over 55k. However if this car was in good enough nick i would certainly consider it.

Would you guys have any reservations with such a high mileage car, as i would like to make a few trips to the nurburgring etc when i get my csl, and wouldnt want to buy a car which could potentially present problems?

In a word... no.

Shimmy's CSL is approaching 80k miles, and I'm buying one that's over 100k miles. It's more important that you look at the spec and condition of the cars than the miles. Also bare in mind that track miles at 10x as bad as road miles.

A car that's only done 40k could have done 20k on track, and I bet that car would have more wear than one that's done 80k on the road, unless half the car has been replaced under warranty like Shimmy's.

I agree with your first bit but the rest is just complete shite - are you talking from 'personal experience' or simply generalising yet again James? :banghead: :banghead:

You'll find most cars on here that go on track receive much more attention and servicing than your average motorway miles muncher and are usually much better cared for to boot...

Hence why I said after it - unless half the car has been replaced. Obviously I'm generalising to an extent - as I only have one car to talk from experience. Same with everyone else on here. All I mean is say for example if nothing had been replaced on a CSL but it had spent most of it's time on track then major components would be more worn than those of a car that had done the same miles on the motorway.

Obviously good care and servicing will prolong the life of the car but unless parts are physically replaced then they will be more worn on track.

Take Duncan's or Shimmy's engine... are you saying they weren't properly maintained? you can almost guarantee that it was the amount of track miles that led to them failing.

I'm only trying to help give an opinion - and I've tried to base it on examples where I don't have the experience myself.

Nobody has to listen to me...

Whilst i agree with some of your reasoning, i would also argue that you are scare mongering to some extent... :bigcry:

Do you know where all the miles on your potential purchase have been racked up? Previous owners and their attitude and care of the car play a big factor not just the place where it has covered its mileage - whether that be on road, track, or a combination of both.

A 100k miler could fail just as easily as a 10k miler for similar or for very different reasons - potentially without either car ever being anywhere near a race track...

Like i said, i agree to some extent but there are too many variables involved to make generalisations...

All IMHO of course ;)

James, just a bit of friendly advice but it's up to individual owners to mention details of any warranty work carried out on their cars. Some people may jump to false conclusions and that's not fair to said owners.

To get back to your point, while I see where your coming from it is a generalisation. Most owners who track their cars make sure they are maintained to a very high standard. As long as that's clearly the case it would never put me off buying a tracked car.
