OK, so spot the problem with this start :banghead:

Nick Foster's front left wheel hit my rear quarter (pic below). Its all good natured banter, but Nick claims I drifted across towards him and he was just holding his line. But I was in front? I'm confused - who was in the wrong here? :banghead:

Not you :banghead:

You were pretty much on a straight path, I know Nick is aggressive although good natured, and had a few off's last season, one just in front of me where he pushed too hard and hit the wall at Donny, but he looks as if he just bumped you straight out of the way, with marks to prove it.

What did the CoC say after or did it not get in front of them ?

You seemed to be keeping a quite consistant line Steve and you were clearly ahead, so I'd say you were not to blame. Up to him to avoid you as far as I can see. Of course, might be easier to judge from a view on-board the other car.

I would send Nick the bill :hahaha::hahaha:

Lucky he didn't put you into the wall

I think Hazy / Radders have got some in car video so hopefully they'll upload that. Nick didn't have a camera in his though.

At least it makes for good telly, it'll be on Motors TV on the 22nd May :hahaha:

I didn't report it to the CoC as I'd had two run ins already that weekend with him, and also presumed it was a racing incident. Only thinking about it now that if this kind of thing (presuming perhaps wrongly that Nick was in the wrong) wasn't penalised that it could be used at the start to wipe out your opponent :banghead:

Im with you 100% Steve, and well collected mate:thumbs:, watch the line of the tarmac join just before impact, it stays in the same place relative to the dash, as a Former Banger Racer, if thats what CSL Cup is about let me at him !:hahaha:.

That other car seemed to get off the line pretty quick mate ...:clown:

Hard to tell from that angle, its on a straight bit of track so both of you should maintain a constant line, if one or other of you drifted accross the track into the other then that party is at fault.

Dunc - off the line starts aren't my area of expertise - I stalled on race 2:hahaha:

Thanks for the heads up on the tarmac line

Shame mate, so did they actually film the CSL cup this year to air, as it ws filmed last year but nothing was kept apparently or shown due to the low grids etc, and the headline races for TV slots are Sport Maxx / Radical's / Mini Challenge in that order .. hope it is as be good to see it on the box..

CSL Miami mate !! :hahaha:

If further assurance were needed of your line, just check out the line the armco makes with the right hand window, its dead straight to the point of impact, if you were drifting across his line, you would see an angle forming and narrowing between the armco and the top of the dash

Only counts in a turn mate where the inside car has right of way as it were if it is alongside or near as dammit alongside.

CSL Cup wasnt filemed last year at all. We requested it was filmed so we could make aprogram out of it but no-one actually did.

This year we are part of Dunlop Great and British and as such have our slot on the full program same as Minis, Radicals etc.

As regards driving standards or complaints, take it stright to CoC, they have control and a procedure which has to be followed, CSL Cup is only involved either informally (should that be the best way to deal with it) or in an observation way in the course of any BARC decisions.

I'm with you Steve on this one.

Watch the video again, there is a tarmac seam on the left of your car which you followed slightly going of course though wheel spin, but you held the line straight at time time of impact.

On the upside I went from eighth to fourth before the first bend :supz: We really need more power and less weight, I think I can compete with the faster cars then:gayfight:

Not your fault Steve - we have a bit of "rubbing" in saloon car racing, it is part of the fun, but that was heafty shove! Unsporting, ungentlmanly, unfair and potentially putting you into the wall is just fucking dangerous. If he thinks that his driving was fair.....you know what to do when the tables are turned.

My race rule is: if contact only leaves a tyre mark - then it was a rub. If contact makes a dent and a tyre mark - the agressor was taking the piss, especially if it happens on a sodding straight!!!! FFS:birdman:

If I ever have some contact with another driver, I always make a point of clearing the air with them after the race - it's the decent thing to do.

I have to agree with the others Steve - quite a clearly a 'tap' from the other car despite you keeping largely on the straight and narrow from the start :bigcry:

CSL Miami here, on further review of both vid and the above picture, I think the geezer needs a quiet word in his shell like. The video proves that Steve was going straight, no doubt about that, but if you look at the tyre mark, its quite obvious that the offending front wheel had a reasonable amount of left lock on at the time of impact, and from the in car video of Steves reactions in gathering it all together,:smokin: to you ! some 1250 kgs of car got pushed about quite a bit, NOT a gentle tyre rub from someone paralleling your line, but a serious biff in the diff ! Why would he do that ? Did he come and speak afterwards Steve ? Guilty as charged if he didnt !
