View Full Version : CSL cup tyres
I am thinking about buying tyres in bulk from Goodyear for this season to try and get the right price unless someone knows a cheaper outlet??
Anyways, if not I am happy to get tyres for those guys who cant claim the VAT back to save you 17.5% (I'll put them through my companies account) so if anyone is interested PM me:thumbs:

You might wanna check with John first, we ran only on Dunlops last year, you have too as part of the dunlop package

Can you let us know what price you get it down to? I reclaim the VAT as well, but any discounts are well worthwhile :)

Get them all from Dunlop direct, they cahrge us all the same price (which is an EU deal so series dont try to sell accross borders - sneaky sods). Pretty sure there is no bulk discount, better not be seeing as we went through over 100 tyres last year!

And dont forget that you may want Dunlop to change tyres on rims at the circuit (included in the tyre price).....may not be too happy if you always bring your own tyres along????;)
We dont get discount either and we have 3-4 cars all doing endurance racing..........Like John I would hate to think how many we buy a season!!

Its quite a good deal we get from Dunlop really, they transport all the tyres we need (slicks and wets) to each circuit, set up two huge rigs where they have full tyre fitting, balancing kit (they still seem to be the only people I can find who can properly balance a slick) and are on hand all weekend (and the test day) swapping tyres to your hearts content. They are also on hand to offer advice on tyre wear, pressures etc etc - they are a series sponsor so that means they have an interest (and obligation) to look after competitors.
AFAIK the only restriction is that they wont fit another brand tyre so wonder over with a set of Pirellis and you're likely to get a short answer ;)
THey also offer a lovely little coffee bar all weekend which is free for drivers, CSL Cup has hospitality but I aint forking out for a frikin expresso machine as well!

I second what John has said - one of my wheels had a slight imbalance and they called me back over to point it out and discuss where to put it, as opposed to just slapping more and more weights on it. Top guys, top coffee :hahaha:

ok, i want to make sure i have the bloody March delivery secured first but they are Japanese and 18 inch and not seen them on a car in the flesh ever so a bit of a risk (but they are extra rigid and very light - circa 8.7Kg per corner which is 2-3 Kg lighter than CSL.)
i must find a way to put these and the tyres thru the business :bigcry:
