View Full Version : CSL Register Ring Trip 2/09!

glendog74
16-09-2009, 10:56 PM
As per the title, i'm looking to go back to the Ring for my final visit of 2009 - need to abuse my annual pass one last time!

I know there are a few others on here who are up for this to make it a mini-CSL Register trip and hence more fun! DazBlackCSL, AlexGTT, Alexk, TMAQ, Azrael and maybe even Bealo (if he can be arsed...!) :smt047

I can't go this month and the TF track times in October are pretty pants to say the least, so i have a plan...

From Monday 9th of November up to and including Wednesday 18th of November the track opens from 0900-1630 every day! Result!

My thoughts are to pop over late in the week (Fri 13th) and stay over the weekend and into the next week - 5 days or so. That way we cater for those who want a little longer out there with some quality week-day track time and also for those who can only make it over for a weekend visit.

Accomodation and travel should be easy to sort as it's off peak and the Cherry bar would welcome us all i'm sure...! Only snag may be the potential for some marginal weather... If we are there 5 days then i'm sure we will end up with decent time on track! The social would be fun anyway :hahaha:

Any thoughts anyone?

my initial reaction is yes, but given that I have sloped off to Europe in the Ferrari without 'er indoors twice this year already, she may have summat to say:thumbs:

will gauge reaction tonight:thumbs:
Fri/sat/sun would be best for me

In which hotel are you planning to stay guys ?
Anybody coming with his missus ?

As Rob and I discussed, I'm definately in for November but might have to compromise my dates.:bigcry: I now look like having a friends birthday bash weekend to attend over weekend 13-15th Nov. As a result, I'm pushed into the earlier date and do the CATDT weekend and weekdays after. So it's looking like 7th-11th Nov for me now. I'll confirm all this over the next few days so that everyone can make plans. I would prefer to be with everyone but if my dates don't suit it's no problem. I'm happy to be there either way.

My vote goes to live out there.

I'm planning to stay at the Ringhaus if i'm there 5 days as it is reasonably priced. I may be able to get a good group rate from Frank if there's enough interest from people?

At the moment i'm going to do this without missus and baby!

No worries - just gauging interest - i'm happy to do either week too! ;)

Accomodation may be more of a problem the first week due to the CATDT trip and others doing the same as us though... May need to book soonish!

I'm ready to book early next week once I've sorted out my dates. Agreed, it'll need to be booked asap. There are some good deals on the Tunnel at the moment but they don't hang around for long. Ringhaus is good for me mate. I know most of the CATDT lot stay at Tiergarten. If we end up with the first week we can always do one or two evenings with Balbina in Pistonklause and the rest in Ringhaus.

Waiting for my mate to confirm plans for his birthday. Whatever date he and his family settle on I'm pretty much committed. He was my best man at my wedding and me his, so there's absolutely no chance I'm letting him down. Although his actual birthday is 12th, he wants a full on weekend party.:partyman:

I suppose here is the slight possibility, provided will-power stops me drinking at a reasonable time on Saturday night, I could drive out on the late afternoon/evening of Sunday 15th November for Monday-Wednesday?? I'd have to drive the family home first and swop cars to the CSL. But, I'd want to travel back on Thursday 19th to get as much Ring time as possible. Could you guys stretch to that date to travel back with me?;)

'Das Grand-Prix-Strecken-Erlebnis kostet 30,00 € für 20 Minuten Fahrspaß. Vorerst dürfen allerdings nur Autos, keine Motorräder, die Strecke befahren'

I think that means you pay 30 Euros for a 20 minute session. Cars and bikes are not on at the same time - unlike the Nordschliefe.

I've heard it's worth doing but still not as cool as the northern loop

That's a bit of a pain - that's changed since i looked the other week... :banghead:

Just as well that most of us are there until Wednesday/Thursday! ;)

PLUS - one bonus is that the Grand-Prix-Strecke is open now on the Sunday too 10am-4pm - another 'tick-in-the-box of track day life'!

As another + you will be fully insured for the GP F1 circuit under the Competition Car Insurance policy as it's an FIA approved Track ( Nordschleife isn't sadly). I'm with them too, THANX to you, buy the way . The GP circuit is FUN for about 20 minutes but it quite hard on brakes so bring a spare set of pads

The F1 circuit is FUN but totally different to Nordschleife. As I said earlier GP F1 is very hard on brakes (Dunlop curve being a good example) and close to my heart & wallet :bigcry:

Less than a week to go. :smokin: Starting to fuss about the car now, removing stuff that isn't needed and cleaning it un-necessarily.

Can't wait.

And I'm definately going on Cups.:smt025:crybaby:

Im not on Cups, Goodyears will be fine as were not out to break any records and they'll be fine, gonna save mine for the summer next year and get MAX usage.

Anyway spoke one of the lads at RSR and he reckons better on road tyres this time of year anyway as mostly the track is never all totally dry all the way round anyhow..

And can't be arsed to take wheels/tyres with me either ;)

Cant bloody wait... few beers tonight tommorrow... easy ish day monday.. New RS29S going on Tuesday and then me and rob are heading out Wed PM ... little euro trip prior to landing at the el ringo on Friday !!

Good trip lads. Thanks for sorting accommodation Darren. Cribbs style room 6 was lonely all on my own for the last night though. :bigcry: I was missing the browse through our new favorite site with you and Rob. ;) You realise what you've done now Daz! We're all in trouble now.

Glad I stayed the extra day. Was on my own but had awesome weather and an empty Ring to play on. Met a couple of lads from Belgium with an SB CSL.

Picture solutions please Rob. :smokin:
