Where did you mount the camera in that clip Alex? Was it in the intake air induction hole?

No that wasn't my vid Rob. I have mounted one on the front of my car though. Just to the right under the number plate. Fits perfect!

Sounds interesting - would you happen to have a pic of it attached to the front of your car? How secure is it and how obvious is the camera?

I only ask as it may be a good solution for filming Nurburgring laps (where recording is prohibited).

This ones for you Rob.

This Bracket is permanently held by self adhesive 3M.

The camera is obviously upside down, so with the flick of a switch in the simple settings the image reverses.

The Camera is waterproof to 100ft, so no problem leaving on in all conditions. Dive, dive, dive!

do you have a vid recorder glendog?

I do - i have a Panasonic HD camcorder which works well inside the windscreen attached by a suction mount. Unfortunately the camera and mount are very noticeable if i was to try and use it at the Ring...

Will be fine for Oulton but i will give the 'GoPro' a try at filming your car too ;)

I have just sold the last one this morning. I placed an order in the UK this week so should be with me in the next few days. Early next week hopefully. Can you last that long, when you off to the ring?

So to those that have bought one, what are your thoughts?

The only thing that is slightly putting me off is the mounting part being permanent (well 3M taped on at all times).

I bought a GoPro Motorsports Hero Wide 5MP Camera, £165 and used it at Spa first time out of box, it works fine, a good few sticky pads to mount it, I also bought a roll cage clamp for it, £30. Also 2 years warranty. The only problem is the sound, as its a waterproof case when mounted inside the car you cant hear $hit. I was going to look at purchasing another clear plastic case for the camera, and using a drill give it the Edam Cheese treatment a fill it full of holes, retaining the other casing for external use.
Its quite small and easy to slide into the mount, something you could easily do once you have gone through the barrier at the Ring say.
