For a CSL without Xenons.

This is an aftermarket upgrade which includes brand new headlamps and a set of HID's which are as good as xenons.

They also include angel eyes.

No use to me now.

£275, Bargain.

Sorry for the noob post but what is the difference between HID and Bi-Xenons?

Rags
27-04-2009, 09:06 AM
HID and Xenon are actually the same thing!

Bi-Xenon just means that the low beam & high beam are from the same bulb.

I never got round to fitting these to my CSL.

Just to add, the lights and xenons are brand new.

The lights have the film on the front of them and the lights also come with indicators.

All fully boxed and ready!

Hi Rags,
I have a couple of questions.
Why is it you bought new headlamps to go with the HIDs?

Also, are they guaranteed to work with the BMW as I've been reading you need the right kit so it doesn't cause a system fault?

Cheers,
Jeff

The projector style look better than the non xenon lights, i would do the same tbh if i bought a csl with no xenons, in fact if rich w does me a deal on his ill buy these:thumbs:

The reason for the new headlamps is because you need projector headlamps to disperse the light correctly with an acceptable beam pattern.

Secondly, these new lights have angel eyes as well.

In terms of the cancelling item you are elluding to is a resistor that is within the Xenon kit that ensures there isn't a fault with the LCM flashing issue.

Thats it basically!

Bargain!

Are these okay without washers for the MOT?

Rags
28-04-2009, 09:15 AM
As I understand it, if the car has Xenons from the factory (ie. on the build sheet) you need wash/wipe.
However, if they are retro fitted, it is acceptable.
If you recall, many CSL's didn't come with washers from the factory and had to be delayed as a result back in 2003.

Bear in mind, most MOT testers wouldn't even notice.

I noticed the Angel eyes in the headlight units there. Haven't seen another CSL with Angel eyes, I have them fitted to mine. Umnitza Kit from the states, its a cracking kit and in the 3 years I've had them fitted, never had any bother. Lifetime warranty too

Good luck with the sale mate.

On another note, anyone ever replaced the plastic lenses to freshen up the front end? I got a price from BMW for them a couple of years ago and they were wanting £70 a side :birdman: ECP maybe?

I'm sure any chav emporium could pop them in for you while the neon washer jets are being fitted ;)

Looks well mate, was wondering when the 'chav' comments were going to begin. At least these ones look as if they should be there not like some of the stuff on Civics and Corsa's.

Nothing wrong with Neon washer jets,
As far as fitting is concerned, doesn't take long at all and almost no doctoring or any part required apart from a tiny wee hole in the rubber grommet to allow the wire for the ring to pass though into the light unit.

What is the difference? Neither Civics, Corsas or e46 BMWs ever came with angel eyes

Can I interest sir in a shark fin aerial to mount on the roof, at least some E46s came with those :blalalala:

lol, valid point :D Got a massive front splitter too but that got ripped off within about 50 metres so had to put the old bumper back on for spa :(

Every time I see a fucked old e36 with angel eyes and a shark fin I cringe, and rightly or wrongly I associate them with that image. They do look pretty good but I just can't get that image out of my head.

Fair enough Nathan, I hear where you're coming from.

At first I really liked the 'Running LED's' you get on Audi's these days but when I seen them on a Mondeo a couple of months ago I went right off them. Shame really.

Nathaneal, this item was bought by me for the sole purpose of having Xenons as opposed to Angel eyes.

So, the fact these are Projector Headlamps with Xenons and also angel eyes, its not the main reason.

Anyway, my e92 m3 has Angel eyes and they look superb as driving lights IMO.

Was tempted to buy til I seen they were angel eyes cos the projector headlight looks loads better.

Can they be bought without the cheapo angel eyes?

Rags

The angel eyes dont have to be wired up you know!

Can be used with or without.

Where was it unclear angel eyes were part of the package, sure I stated this?

Right, reduced to £240.

All now fitted, the different indicators give it a bit more of an angry stance now, well imo.

I know aftermarket is not to everyones tastes, but im so used to xenons, i had to get them.

IMO they finish of the front end, esp compared to the non xenons:supz:
