I swapped my insurance over from A-Plan (under Service insurance?) as they were the best for a +25% power Focus ST. Checking quotes as mine runs out in May, hopefully to include a couple of trackdays and the 'ring.

Which companies are people using for std road insurance and for trackday insurance / combined?

Admiral for road - approx £750 fully comp.
MORIS for track - approx £150 per track day.

When i renew, i plan to get combined cover (possibly from HIC) as my seperate approach has proven to be expensive due to the number of trackdays that i do per year.

BTW, i'm 35, 12 years no-claims, car garaged, low-risk postcode. :smt023

Hummm... I wasn't insured when I did Donington because it was a last minute opportunity (friend's GT3RS holed a rad and I pinched his slot) and I was taking it very carefully. Not more than 70-odd% and very careful that people knew I was coming past before I made the manoeuvre. Still EeeeeeK, I suppose! That said, probably more dnager of an 'off' at the 'ring than a trackday at somewhere like Donington.

I'm 43 and paying £450 but that was 9 months ST and 3 months CSL (runs out May)

I will make sure the CSL is insured from here on in, cheers!

It certainly aint cheap! Slightly more expensive than UK tracks for obvious reasons...

Paid £180 for 1 day the first time i went there.
Paid £305 for 2 days next time.
Went uninsured the 3rd visit only to then have a 'very close call' with a barrier - sod's law when uninsured! 'dave1' saw the whole thing following behind in his CSL! :119:

UK insurance for comparison:

Paid £165 for Donington with recovery and medical insurance included.
Paid £160 for Castle Combe with medical insurance only included.

All insurance with MORIS.

Not very cheap at all :bigcry: Its gotta be done though.

What other insurers are you lads using? Is it possible to pay a premium for the season to cover all tracks?

Id say thats just for personal injury insurance on track, and would exclude damages to vehicles.

should have said i meant for the ring, they say that it includes the ring for Personal Liability
"Cover for compensation you become legally liable to pay for accidents which cause:-
Death or Bodily injury.
Loss or damage to property"

After many years, finally i feel i have a good deal on my insurance renewal! As i do a few track days each year i wanted an annual road policy that also covers the track rather than having separate road and track insurance which has proved exorbitantly expensive... :banghead:

I got a fair few quotes with most of the insurers listed on this thread with these details:

Age 35, Married, 12 years NCB, no points, no claims, approx 7k miles per year, relatively safe postcode in Somerset, car garaged, with AP brakes/SS backbox/suspension mods...

Quotes (best to worst):

Competition Car Insurance (including 4 TD) - £535
Richard Eggar Insurance (including 4 TD) - £559
Keith Michaels Insurance (TD extra @£60 each) - £597
Adrian Flux (including 4 TD) - >£700
Pace Ward (TD extra @£78 each) - £712
Herts Insurance Company (including 4 TD) - >£1000
Bickley Insurance Services - >£1000
A-Plan - NO TD COVER OFFERED - ...
A.Manning - DIDN'T GET QUOTE BACK TO ME... - ...

Needless to say i'm now with CCI! For interest, my old insurer Admiral could only come up with around £650 - no track cover available.

Happy! :smt026 :smt023

Wow, I never even considered trying CCI for normal fully comp insurance when sorting mine out. Good work!
