The RS4 is a very fast car but very 'cold' to drive. I think it will bore you after the CSL but good luck anyway.....Must say your CSL is very good value for money...a very cheap car for someone.

Mark,

Im hoping to get a csl very soon when my finances are finally in place. Yours interests me a lot. It looks in very good condition from some of the detailing pics ive seen. My only concern is that it is quite high mileage. Is it still mechanically sound and is it a bmw service history? Also whats the stereo sound like?

Thanks,

Matt

Matt

It's a BMW 66k is not high mileage....6 years old 12k a year is average so this is actualy lower than average

Lots seem to have a hang up of mileage on a CSL but to honest I would prefer a well looked after CSL thats been used every day than a garage Queen..this car is cheap snap it up before someone else does.....

Hi Matt

Thanks for the interest. The car is mechanically sound, its ben mentioned that some people are sceptical about buying one with higher millage but for a 3.2litre M Power car its nothing :smokin:

I have photos of the service book if you wish, just email me mark.smith@priceguidenetwork.com and mention the CSL Register as your referrer so i know where its come from :)

The radio is not BMW but the sound quality is ok, but again likes been said not a patch on the engine with sports on

Mark

PS Cheers for the support guys its not an easy decision and i will probably be like most who sell their csl's, be itching to get back in one asap :hahaha:

I think you'll regret going to an RS4 from a CSL...

I currently drive an RS4 as a daily drive and its an awesome car .
It has got everything you need .
But it is not much fun to drive on a track , it is too "easy" to drive .
That's why i bought a CSL to track .
But as a daily drive the RS4 is one of the best cars out there .

Yea I know, I've done 30,000 miles in 12 months in my B7 RS4...

...but I came from a GT3. I agree that the RS4 is an exceptional road car, all round ability is stunning but its a blunt tool and if you don't have the luxury of affording both I'd take the CSL over it.

The M3 engines have always been solid, i run a E36 M3 3.0 on the track, it has done over 100'00 miles, spent a lot of these miles stationed at the ring with its previous owner and i have spanked it at over 10 track days since getting it last year. Bullet proof and get better with more mileage (touching wood) :)

just get one that has been well serviced and it will be good!

csl_mba
28-02-2009, 05:06 PM
Loads of interest about 10 individuals, a few wanted to know more about the car/piccys etc... No offers i could accept at present though!

This is a cheap CSL like you said and i think the price reflects the mileage, the car itself is still a stunning motor all mechanically sound with the normal stone chipping at the front

Once the PH advert runs out i might just keep it.

I know what SMD means when he talks of CSL owners wanting the best and your car is higher miles of course, compared to others anyway.

When i looked for mine over a year ago i wanted a sub-20k miler. I ended up with a 36k one as it was immaculate! It now has almost 49k on the clock and is not quite so pristine after a few track days...!

Knowing what i know now though, and the fact that i take mine on track, i wouldn't think twice of buying a higher miles car - so long as it has all the servicing and usual recall/warranty stuff in it's history.

Your car is a great bargain Mark. I still say hold on to it though!

I think it's a real shame no-one has bitten your arm off yet - I wouldn't have hesitated at that price with that mileage.

The RS4 is a great car but it didn't excite me, the csl does, if that makes sense?

I would love an rs4 as a tow barge or family barge but not as a proper drivers car.

I think you should keep the csl.

I suppose in a way i am a little disappointed, but come the 1st May on my way to the Ring i will be gurning like a loon

I think people who look for CSL's are looking for the low milage, mint example, never been tracked etc.... but in reality these cars are awesome machines as long as they are serviced properly - these were built for the track and to withstand the forces that come with track driving :supz:
