Firstly, just donated to the forum so hopefully this won't get taken down:beer:

Well, the love affair this time was considerably shorter than the first one and it is time for me to put my trusty CSL up for sale and move back to Stuttgart's finest, again... The wife is going to go absolutely crazy...

I have 3 weeks to sell the car otherwise it will be traded in so here goes...

Car registered 18.09.2003
Full spec - xenons, PDC, climate, business radio etc. rain sensor
111k miles - i have done less than 500 miles since buying the car :bigcry:
CSL plaque which is worth £5k alone at today's prices :blalalala:
Re-trimmed steering wheel with aftermarket paddles (still have the unmarked originals)
Recent clutch at BMW April 2012 - carried out under BMW warranty
Subframe replaced under BMW warranty Jan 2012
AC Schnitzer rear exhaust and Miltek centre section
FBMWSH at Murketts apart from the last service inspection 2 which was carried out by the dealer at an independent BMW specialist
Running in service carried out at 1180 miles by Murketts
Taxed till October 2013
MOT till April 2014
Refurbished (red) AP racing set up front and rear
Independent warranty valid till November 2013
All keys, CSL handbook etc. included

Looking to get back what i have spent on the car and pricing at £21,500 for a fast-ish sale, hopefully!

Possibility of doing a deal without the brakes etc. but ideally would like it to go as is and for someone else to enjoy.

The best thing, no need to worry about driving it as already a proud member of the 100k club!! :supz:

This is my second CSL and drives nice and tight and performs just as a CSL should, tape over the mileage and you would be hard pressed to guess she was over 100k

Front end was resprayed by the previous owner to a very high finish and the car has no dings/ dents or scratches. In fact i would go to say the paintwork is better than my old car.

Last thing i have just found out the previous owner had a tenuous link with James Bond - that's got you interested hasn't it!!!

Car is based in Somerset.

Anyway, if anyone would like to view please PM or drop me a line on and more than happy to have a cup of tea and show you the car, promise you wont be disappointed.

Attached a few pictures below but have lots more should anyone want anything specific.

First picture shows dust on the roof, its bloody harvest time down here in the West Country:bigcry:

Unfortunately no, (great car though!) I have decided to go for the other GT model. A friend is though and I have just pointed him to your for sale ad so hopefully he will make contact

Apologies for those of you who have called re the car, I have had a few missed calls (i was on dad duty!). Will be around for the rest of the evening if anyone would like any more information.

Which one are you getting and dealers or independant? There seem to be a few 997.1 s up for sale and a couple of 997.2 s (although bigger money). I am itching to get a GT3 RS too and my wife keeps telling me to sell.

Hopefully see some pictures in three weeks time.

Best of luck.

Morning gents, ok eager to move this on and get into the new car now, so dropping the price of this down to £20,500 for you nice folk on the CSL register, before it goes on PH etc.

Would rather it go to someone who will appreciate it than trade it in...

Trying to change the title but can't seem to, can anyone help please?

Looks good - what's the JB link ?

If Famke Janssen previous owner, could be tempted!

Thank you, if the asking price is met she comes packaged in the boot :hahaha:

As for the JB link, the previous owners surname was Scaramanga and apparently his grandfather was the inspiration behind the Bond villain...

Don't shoot me if it's not true, I am just passing on the info!

Please can all you people with CSLs for sale please hurry up and sell them for a good price. Mine is still sat at Elms having the gearbox replaced, but I know for certain that I will need to sell it when it's fixed. Market is saturated at the moment...

I know is sad for the owners out there that the price some times comes down, but gives me hope that one day I could afford to buy one, unless they sky rocket of course.

Just sold my Z4M and after having 16 M Cars, going to try and start saving up the difference to get a CSL.

Live the dream !!

not a lot really. keep it, drive it and enjoy it really.

the APs are mental. like you are going through screen

might get rid of the 100 CELL cats and go back to standard exhaust.

rear seat bench needs sorting and a few other bits but for a 100k mile car its in great condition.

Main thing is you can fully enjoy it and not worry about crossing the 100K barrier, like so many do :banghead: It's only a number people

thanks all. I only done about 500 miles in the e30 last year as two young kids just takes over. but nice to have sth special in the garage.

got the polish out last night and come up well. will get some pics up later.

with so little miles each year then the mileage should catch up and be ok in a few years as there are a few others getting there but who cares and who is counting tbh

Really pleased for you have got one you liked, it's been a great Csl you sold me and if I sold it I would have preferred you to have the car. Looks like I will be selling gtr as I don't know I could watch someone driving Csl away so gtr will be for sale soon if anyone interested. Enjoy your car Nick and sure youll drive and look after it how it should be done. shame you had to get the slower more common ones :hahaha:

Trust the CSL will bring a big grin once she is polishedand on the road so enjoy.
Out of interest did you sell the e30??

e30 m3 Steve. A real one so lhd and diamond black. Hence why i went grey on csl

had to go as just fell out of love with it. 25 year old cars need a lot of attention

in hands of a collector now who is taking it back to the shell as rust threat is always there.

keep the csl Derek as plenty of gtr out there if ever you change your mind.

Congratulations on the buy, mines up to 94,000 miles now, 17,000 by me... How does it compare to your previous E30 M3?

Das Chin
05-09-2013, 07:49 AM
very very different car thrasher. the CSL is more like the e30 M3 sport evo but I have never been out in one in terms or rareness and speciality.

CSL much more modern and up to date. tonnes more grunt and grip but don't forget the m3 was 25 years old and had 200 bhp.

the e30 M3 was very nimble as it was only 1200 KGs with fuel and agile and once you got moving on a flowing road it was a real joy as it just flowed well. it had bilstein B8 shocks with uprated ARBs so it was planted and very manageable mid corner.

the CSL feels similar in terms of speed carrying but I have to drive it more to comment. CSL feels like a missile compared to the old car!! its been over 5 years since I sold my old one but it does not take long to be going very quick in one from what I recall.

the e30 was a very pretty car and it used to get a lot of attention as so rare these days and very iconic. good thing and bad thing.

the CSL tends to blend into normal traffic a bit more than I remember as so many cars now have 19 inch wheels, big brakes etc as it seems to be the norm for mfrs to make sporty models.

tyre technology moves on at a very rapid rate as the super sports are sth else. I had PS2s on my old one and they were great on the road but did give up after a few laps on track. I am still tempted by Cups when the SS wear out as it will only be out on dry days and the Cups are very very special once warm.

I will drive the CSL some more and make a more informed call then.

I had two sport Evo s,one with carbon airbox schrick cams, motec, race Leda suspension, updated roll bars etc, full roll cage, had it reving to 8200 rpm:-D
Second car was Italian and almost standard,I ended up put bistein nurburg kit in that one,was nice but the first car with all the mods was like a csl !!

I replaced my first sport Evo with another sport Evo,and then moved to a 964 rs,I have to say I always missed the way you could mess in the m3 when lapping and was far better back road car....I did miss and thought I had done the wrong thing selling sport, but looking back I don't think I would ever want one again, and feeling similar to 964 rs now as it not that useable anymore
Csl has its flaws but I think it's probably best all round car I have ever owned or even been in,I have yet to track it and hope it lives up the hype on track!! I hope I don't miss the stick shift and toe n heel of earlier cars!!
If it lights my fire on track 964 might get a new home soon

Any Irish lads doing kirkistown on 15 th September??

Thank you,yea I love special cars, both sport were red,I wanted black second time but none were available, interior was cloth on both electronic dampening on second car ,my rs is black with triple grey interior seat cushions,I did want maritime blue at the time but chickened out and went for my old reliable colour...black!!

I have probably enjoyed driving again more since owning my csl, something very nice about the way it's a Jekyll and Hyde type of car!! I do have it for sale and have had offered what I'm looking for it..... But I think I could regret,so keeping for the moment
